Concrete Steps

Compressive strength from concrete combined with tensile strength from rebar to provides a solid core. We excavate deep footers to prevent concrete from rising or sinking.

  • Step Height: 5.5″-7.25″
  • Frost Footers: 42″ Deep
  • Strength: 4000 PSI – Straight 6 Bag
  • Reinforcements: Concrete Fibers & Rebar
  • Iron or Aluminum Railings Recommended

Each entrance is unique and this Cantilevered edge design gives the illusion of floating steps.

3D Design optimized framing and base groundwork. Six 42″ deep cylinder footers were dug to made sure this structure never moves.

Wood forms are framed and staked down with nails and screws to withstand the enormous pressure from the weight of the concrete.

Rebar is used to tie the steps together and acts as the skeleton to the structure.

Concrete is timed and wood is stripped to give a smooth finish to each step before the concrete hardens.

Stone Entrance

Beautiful natural stone adds curb appeal and is long-term heavy-duty. Stone is constructed on a stable core such as cinder blocks or concrete steps.

Special mortar cements stones together and hardens for a permanent bond.

Limestone caps are used on the landings of the steps and create a 1″ overhang.

Stone is easy to maintain and can always be repaired. As opposed to concrete, stone can be repaired in specific areas without having to completely demolish.

Stamped Concrete

Timing is everything but experience and skill is also involved.

Selecting 1 Integral Color and 1 Antiquing Release, concrete can be colored and texturized, even for steps.

Best Railings used to give each custom project the cherry-on-top.

Mastery is required to time the concrete and stamp at the right time. Too soon and the concrete will finish too dark. Too late and the concrete will be too light.

Look for even color and pattern distribution as a good sign to a job done right.

  1. Concrete is poured into forms that are later stripped in order to close any holes in the concrete and smooth the surface.
  2. Once vertical and horizontal surfaces are smooth, antiquing release powder is used to cover everything.
  3. Stamps imprint color and pattern into the concrete.
  4. Sealer gives a wet-look and darkens to true color.
